  Play Therapy

Hi, my name is Hannah Lane, I am a Play Therapist working with children aged 4- 14 years.

I began working within Children Centres providing support for Children and Families, I became a keen advocate for listening to the families voice and implementing changes to what the centre delivered. This has stayed with me as I have progressed with my life professionally and personally. Working for over 15 years in private and public sectors alongside completing my degree in Early Childhood Studies and moving on to train as a Creative Arts and Play Therapist through Leeds Beckett University. As a therapist, I believe strongly in voicing children's views and working with the family to create a safe and stable world for them to develop. Alongside, I work with children and families in a CAMHS Setting.

  • Has parents who are having Mediation?

  • Is arguing with a parent and not been listened to?

  • Is about to go into foster care?

  • Has a Children Social Care Plan and not sure what their wishes and feelings are?

There are different situations for a child when it is crucial their voice is heard to enable adults to make safe decisions for them. This could be through Mediation, Children Social Services or in School.

An independent worker has the ability to advocate for the child ensuring their voice is heard in a non-biased and safe way.
